Invite harmony into your world. Enhance the atmosphere of your interior with the ancient technique of ink painting. Let the energy flowing from the brush into your home.

The plum blossom, a classic motif, an element of the Shikunshi (four seasons), a Japanese symbol of winter, is a combination of two opposing matter – the sweetness and delicacy of the flowers, which saturate the air with a subtle fragrance, and the roughness and hardness of the branches. A duality of fragility and resilience. Symbol of inner beauty, humility and perseverance.

Sumi-e or Japanese ink painting is an ancient painting technique deeply rooted in Zen philosophy. The spirituality of this art form implies that only by turning inward can you see what is outside. Stop the day and space to look into yourself while painting.

It was this great need to be with myself and to look inside my own feelings, to organize my emotions, to look at them like pictures – that stood at the beginning of my path.

Sumi-e paintings are created on fine rice paper. The uniqueness of each work lies in the impossibility of applying corrections. With a single brushstroke (which the artist even practices for hours), both tonal (valor) transitions and form (shape) are created. This makes the artwork impossible to imitate. There will never be an exactly identical image.

Typically, an artist will spend hours practicing one particular movement so that you (as the viewer) can read it as light, free and fine. A sketch made up of a few strokes is the final result of earlier, antsy work. Which often involves repeating, in full concentration, the same passage-which in itself can be an element of meditation.

The subject of the sale is a framed print (in passe partout – dirty white with texture and silver frame 30 x 40 cm), made on glued rice paper.
