The graphics are backed with thick backing paper, which highlights the texture of the rice paper and prepares (stiffens) it for framing (since rice paper is very thin and delicate). It is also susceptible to wrinkling during painting. I have been using thick paper for a short time, and using it for large formats is a real challenge. In the process, it created a few wrinkles on the back of the work, which are not visible on the front of the print.

Nonetheless, there is some discomfort for me and a reason to reduce the price. So you can purchase any work from the “Haru no take 春の竹” large format collection at half price. This is a great opportunity to create your own gallery in your living room or lobby, for example.
